Andrew Marrah and Chase Johnson's drum machines and synths make a larger presence. This produced a new sound that keeps the elements that make Airiel great - catchy melodies, lush guitars, danceable rhythms and lasting dreaminess. "Kid Games" also marks the return of guest vocalist Stella Tran, who's first appearance was on "Firefly" from the Melted EP of the Winks & Kisses box set.

Time Baby 2 is simultaneously one of the most widely heard Medicine songs (It's the tune they're playing in their appearance in the 1994 film, The Crow) & also one of the most difficult to find a copy of. Originally released as one of 3 non-LP B sides on the 5ive E.P., it has never been released anywhere else until now. It's also worth mentioning that the original Creation release suffered from poor, out of phase mastering, so this is the first time this noisy pop gem can be heard as the band truly intended. Oxfordshire quartet Ride quickly rose to prominence in 1989, driven by the chart success of its first three EPs, the intensity of its live shows, and a hypnotic and moody sound that presaged alt-rock's ascendance. In October 1990, the band released its first full album Nowhere, a tour de force of intertwining guitars, intimate but otherworldly vocals, and open-ended lyrics. Throughout Isolation, TBK blends various elements ranging from atmospheric power-pop, to experimental synth rock, extending well beyond the band's earlier Beach Boys meets My Bloody Valentine leanings. It is surely one of the year's most ambitious rock records, and one that deserves all the attention that The Brother Kite has so lovingly put into creating it.
